ACC Private Credit Investor Forum: Friend or foe? Banks – Non-banks – Asset managers

As private credit matures in Australia, the lines between banks, non-banks and asset managers are being redrawn.

Privity Credit’s Managing Partner Atiya Habib joined the ACC Private Credit Investor Forum panel with Shelley Brown (MSC Trustees), Mark Sherwood (iPartners) and Chris Wyke (MA Financial Group) to examine how these relationships are evolving. They discussed:

  • The middle-market opportunity – banks focus on small (<$10m, property backed) and large cap ($100m+) while Privity focuses on the growing pie in the middle.
  • How regulatory capital, funding costs and policies are reshaping credit formation and pricing
  • Implications of speed of execution, flexible structure and liquidity considerations for borrowers and investors.
